On Monday, August 9th an extreme weather event occurred during Mountain Phase of Ranger School that resulted in two fatalities and multiple injuries. The US Army has provided rapid and intensive intervention through Behavioral Health and Chaplaincy. Leadership has recognized that collaborative adjunctive healing modalities will further support the Soldiers as they continue their important work. While we are mourning these losses, we are honored and humbled to be able to provide services to assist and support our Special Forces Community.
Your generous funding support will mobilize the Equine Immersion Project (EIP) to Georgia 8/31-9/4. Once there, the EIP team will serve 18 Rangers during 3 days of programming with 8 high performance cutting horses.
The team includes:
- Tara Mahoney – CEO of EIP, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Equine Services for Heroes Committee and Board Member of Horses and Humans Research Foundation
- Paul Martinez – Equine Specialist EIP, US Army Ranger- 75th Regiment, Sniper, Horse Trainer with Austin Shepard, National Cutting Horse Association Riders Hall of Fame
- Ryan Casavant – COO of EIP, US Marine Corps, Team Leader- HomeBase Veteran Outreach Coordinator
- Kelly MacCorquodale – Equine Specialist EIP, Blue Star Mother (MOH recipient Ryan Pitts)
- Daniel Badger – Equine Specialist EIP, US Army Ranger
- Mark – President American Cutting Horse Association
All donations provide direct services to soldiers, travel accommodations, and horse transportation/stabling.
